About Chaplin Nature Center

The Chaplin Nature Center is a fantastic place for some quality family time! Spread over 230 acres, this nature preserve features stunning woodlands, prairies, and streams. Families will love spending time on the five miles of trails, perfect for hiking and exploring the diverse natural landscape. The center boasts a 3,300 square foot Visitor Center, a Nature Library, a Bookstore & Gift Shop, and a Multi-Purpose Room for various activities.

Originally homesteaded by a relative of the late Mrs. C. Stedman (Hazel) Chaplin back in 1874, the center is now proudly managed and operated by the Wichita Audubon Society.
