Located near downtown Goodland, Kansas is a local history repository called the High Plains Museum. It was established in 1959, and it is owned and operated by the City of Goodland. As you visit the museum, you will find objects from its collection of over 8,000 objects that represent over one hundred years of Northwestern Kansas history. The stories of the people of Western Kansas, descendants of the Native American, the Soldier, the farmer, the teacher, the railroader, and the entrepreneur are presented through the efforts of the High Plains Museum.
