Where: Sunset Zoo
Hours: October 21st (Special Populations & Special Needs Night) – 5:30-7:30 PM. This sensory-friendly evening will be designed for special populations and high-risk families | October 22nd & 23rd – 9:30 AM-5:15 PM
During this event, both kids and adults can wear their costumes and enjoy the candy!
There will be local businesses handing out candy throughout the zoo! Don’t miss the awesome Halloween-themed activities, candy, a decorated zoo, entertainment, and so much more!

The Hutchinson Zoo has partnered with the Hutchinson High School Thespian Club to bring you a perfectly blended scary & funny haunted train ride!

During Dinosaurs After Dark, families will get to explore the darkened trails of the Field Station and encounter some of the most recognizable movie monsters of all time – all while trying to find the most terrible, scariest monster of all.

Spooky season is here!
Join Exploration Place for a fun-filled and family-friendly breakfast event where your child’s favorite characters will bring out all the boos and ah-hs.

For this year’s Boo at the Zoo, make sure to wear your costume, take lots of pictures, and enjoy this spooky event filled with Halloween fun!

From toddlers to grandparents and everyone in between, there’s fun for everyone this Halloween!
Experiences include escape rooms, creepy crawlers, a bounce house, a haunted hayride, Isle of Intrigue, a stage show, a cage maze, laser tag, crafts, candy stations and games, and more.

The first floor of the Museum of World Treasures will be transformed with spooky, family-friendly displays throughout for all Halloween lovers along with candy.

Join Winifred, Sarah, and Mary at Exploration Place for an audience participation viewing that celebrates all things Hocus Pocus!
Experience this iconic Halloween classic like never before – engaging physically and vocally with the movie through interactive cues that will have everyone acting, laughing, singing, and cheering along with the characters on screen.

The Museum of World Treasures invites the whole family to celebrate this beautifully dark and mysterious world in a fun and spooky way!
Proceeds from this event go to support the educational mission of the Museum of World Treasures.

Visit the Hutchinson Zoo with your best non-scary Halloween costume as you fill your sponsor-provided candy bag with candy & prizes.
There will also be a bounce house donated by Inflate-o-Fun, games, and special zoo animal encounters.
Where: Flint Hills Discovery Center
Hours: November 1, 10:30 AM- 11:30 AM
During Preschoolers in the Flint Hills, preschool-age children will discover the wonder of the Flint Hills where they live but look beyond the city limits in their exploration.
Children further their sense of place and belonging to this region through interactions with the ecology and the history of the area. Every session includes a story time, snack, and themed craft or activity!

Newborn kids through Kindergarten will get to wear their favorite pajamas for this evening class in which they’ll enjoy a lesson, crafts, a Zoo experience, a bedtime story, and a snack!

Children in grades K-2 will discover the colorful world around them during these awesome camps! They will make their own chalk, and funky crayons, and experiment with color!
Discovery Camp (grades K-2) is a unique program offered at the Flint Hills Discovery Center throughout the school year. Camps include hands-on activities like exciting experiments, outdoor excursions, and creative crafts.
